British Council’s Business Investment Readiness programme pilot nears completion

The British Council is piloting a programme in 9 countries to improve the investment readiness of social enterprises so that they can scale their social impact. Red Ochre partnered VSES in delivering the programme in Hanoi, Vietnam. Red Ochre delivered a 5 day intensive Train the Trainer Bootcamp for 30 consultants, trainers and practitioners.Uday Thakkar, MD of Red Ochre, visited Hanoi 4 times to undertake a needs scoping exercise, workshop delivery, evaluation visits and also to participate in 3 conferences to promote social enterprise, ethical business/ corporate social responsibility, and managing innovative corporate governance. The conferences were sponsored by various universities and the Vietnamese Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

Participants also had to demonstrate their learning through delivering training and support to social enterprises. They also engaged in group work as this amusing video demonstrates.

Red Ochre co-founder Robert Foster concurrently facilitated a week long social enterprise bootcamp in Ho Chi Minh City in the south of the country with Brian Millington of Hackney Cooperative Development.
