The best time to send emails is debatable

The best time actually depends on who your customers are and not who you are, or what you do.

  • If your target audience is made up of professionals, late morning and lunchtime tends to be the best time to email
  • If you have an older readership, sending emails in the afternoon might be more beneficial
  • Charities that raise money by asking for donations tend to find that around 8pm is the optimum time to email supporters, as their audience have arrived home, eaten and are relaxing

By the evening the vast majority of subscribers open their emails on smart devices irrespective of their job status.
