Differences in Common exhibition

Friend of Red Ochre, Xenia Demetriou of eye4change, hosts the opening of Differences in Common tonight. The exhibition of photographs by 100 local people is an outcome of a series of community photowalks, facilitated by eye4change, in the Royal Borough of Greenwich. The work focuses on what new and existing communities have in common, while recognising the value of diversity. People from a range of backgrounds, abilities and experiences came together with each employing the camera as a tool for creative expression, storytelling and a means to connect, share and increase a sense of belonging. Maximising Cultural Heritage in Education

We’re working with Avilys in Vilnius, Lithuania and Materahub in Matera, Italy in order to better support cultural entrepreneurs and those working with heritage. Robert and Martin were recently in the stunning city of Matera where we saw some amazing examples of cultural led transformation. We’re working on some new methods and training materials so we can all deliver better training in this area in the future. We will be making these widely available for practitioners, so please come back on a regular basis for access to the materials. This project is supported by Erasmus+. Read more »

Chilli Tuk Tuk wins British Curry Award 2018

Red Ochre client Chilli Tuk Tuk wins the 2018 British Curry Award for Best Take Away in the country. Deepak Christopher explored Indian cuisine learning from top chefs in India before setting up his take away in North Finchley in 2015. DNA wins The Noon Award

Diversity and Ability Ltd (DNA) scooped up the 2018 Noon Award at the Global Equality and Diversity Conference, in recognition for their work combining mental health & digital inclusion courses for disabled/neurodiverse people that are affected by homelessness. Red Ochre client wins the 2018 Queen’s Award for Innovation

Ben Williams, founder and MD of Magmatech, will collect his prestigious Queen’s Award for Innovation award later in the year. Magmatech designs and produces energy efficient products for the buildings trades and sells them globally. Congratulations to SenSat

On Tuesday 21st November SenSat, friend and occasional client of Red Ochre, launched a photo essay book called “A snapshot in time: Photographs and stories from a year in SenSat Operations”. Many of the photos are captured from SenSat’s automated drone surveying platform Mapp and are spectacular. If you can get a copy of the book you won’t be disappointed.     Read more »

MeWe360

Long term friend and occasional client Kevin Osborne has managed an incredible achievement. MeWe360, which he launched in 2013, aims to help entrepreneurs from BAME backgrounds. Now based in two buildings in Soho Square, London, MeWe360 provides work space, mentoring and introductions to potential investors to those entrepreneurs. There are 2 wings to MeWe360, a charity arm and a social enterprise. The project has recently received just over £1m in funding from the Arts Impact Fund, supported by NESTA and the Arts Council England as well as other funders. Mayor of London visits Building Bloqs

Building Bloqs recently received a visit from Sadiq Khan, Mayor of London. The new Building Bloqs work space at Meridian Works is supported by the Mayor’s Regeneration Fund and is in collaboration with Enfield Council and artist studio provider ACAVA.
