Free Sources of Funding Workshop

Entrepreneurs face numerous challenges in starting and growing their businesses. Often one of the greatest frustrations is obtaining finance. Recent economic concerns have reduced access to traditional sources of finance. Those involved in export face an even greater challenge to finance their goods and services.

During this workshop, Uday Thakkar from Red Ochre  will explore what possibilities exist for entrepreneurs seeking to grow their export businesses. The workshop will be participatory and will act as a signpost for further information.

Topics covered will include:
• Getting the fundamentals right
• Knowing how much to ask for
• Assessing the risk associated with export
• Traditional sources
• Export finance peculiarities
• Thinking outside the box
• New sources of finance

This workshop is aimed at female entrepreneurs involved with a business that is at least 51% female-owned. Participants will get a good grounding in sources of finance for their enterprise as well as their export business. Understanding and improving the “ask” will also increase the success of obtaining the appropriate finance.
