Firstly, I’m pleased to see Sarah Champion has been returned as Labour MP for Rotherham. I know Sarah from my time at the Chinese Art Centre in Manchester (now the Centre for Chinese Contemporary Art) where I was Chair for three years and she was my Chief Exec.

My take: Sarah has always been a woman of vision and conviction.

Congratulations are also in order for Jonathan Lytle. Jonathan has been elected for the first time as a local councillor for Heatherside, Surrey Heath. We’ve always known Jonathan to be a keen supporter of civil society and third sector organisations.

My take: Jonathan is very “green” although he wears Tory blue.
