Uday Thakkar ran a double workshop for migrant and refugee community organisations on behalf of the GLA and the Refugee Council on the 30th of September. The workshop for over 16 representatives from various MRCO’s explored the routes to organisational and financial sustainability and also how to best support others wanting to make this transition.
The workshop, part of the implementation plan of London Enriched, the Mayor’s Integration Strategy for London, was one in a series that the GLA is organising to support the London Strategic Migration Partnership which is chaired by Deputy Mayor Munira Mirza.
Uday’s approach is that financial sustainability can only follow community/ consumer support which in turn is driven by creating value for that the consumer. Value is created through an understanding of consumer/ community needs and providing simple and accessible solutions. The approach has to be customer focused and not YOU focussed!
